Yeah, mp3 pretty much automaticly kill any game. The only thing that seems to work well is midi. HR may or may not be able to use mp3s since the music files are stored outside of the game...

Well when MP3s are loaded externally, the game starts up faster since it doesn't have to load it at start up (I think it's than if you uncheck preload), so MP3's work well that way. The only issue is file size.

That makes sense, but mp3s usally cause in-game lag for me. I will try that tho.

Would the fact that mp3s are stored externally make them more difficult to implement or easier, or does it not really make a difference. At this point any work done seems to be great, unfortunately in Scott's absence we don't have much we can do.

Well, MP3's loaded externally (In my experience), are better than MP3's loaded into GM. However, if you want really super fast external sound loading, you should look into a dll such as supersound or fmod. Plus, with those DLLs, you can convert the MP3's into OGG format, saving file space aswell.

And yeah, I wonder what Scott is doing?

No kidding, but he will be back eventually, we can get this going again I think. A new demo would be awesome, I see if I can get some work for him done so we can release this for you guys.
